A subsidiary of the UK’s largest construction group Balfour Beatty, has been awarded a residential building contract in Hong Kong worth US$380m (HK$3bn).
The residential project will see Gammon Construction develop eight medium rise blocks and four houses with a two-level basement overlooking Tai Po’s Tolo Harbour in northern Hong Kong.
Gammon Construction is a 50:50 joint venture between Balfour Beatty and Jardine Matheson, an Asian-based conglomerate.
Work is taking place on behalf of local real estate company Great Eagle Group.
During peak construction 1,000 people will be working on the project.
Balfour Beatty said: "Gammon will utilise the latest technology including 3D scanning and Building Information Modelling (BIM) to generate and manage vital project data to enhance construction efficiencies".

Works are scheduled for completion by the end of 2019.
