Carillion awarded $119m hospital contract in Saudi Arabia

Carillion Saudi Arabia has signed a contract with the Aldara Medical Corporation to deliver phase two of the Aldara Hospital and Medical Centre in Riyadh. The project is expected to have a construction value of approximately $119m.

When it is completed, the medical complex will have the largest outpatient centre in Saudi Arabia. It is located close to the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre and Al Faisal University.

The development hopes to address the growing demand for high-quality health care in Riyadh. Work on the first phase of the 100-bed hospital was begun in 2012.

Richard Howson, the chief executive of Carillion, said: "We’re delighted to have been selected to deliver this prestigious project, our second hospital project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which offers significant opportunities for growth that contribute to the improving outlook in our Middle East markets."
