China to fund new Burundi presidential palaces

China has agreed to fund the construction of three presidential palaces and a hydropower dam in the Central African country of Burundi.

The new palaces are for Burundi’s president and first and second vice presidents according to the deal signed by China’s deputy commerce minister Zhong Shan during his visit to Burundi in September, China’s Global Times reported.

The hydropower dam will be built on the river Ruzibazi.
