An international airport and 140MW gas turbine plant in Nigeria project currently being developed and part-funded by Chinese construction firm, Sinex.
The overall cost will be around $201m, the Bauchi State government disclosed last week.
State governor Malam Isa Yuguda spoke in Abuja after meeting with Sinex and Exim Bank of China, one of the funding partners.
Yuguda said the Bauchi State had the capacity to consume 40 per cent of power generated from the plant, adding: "140 megawatts will no doubt end the power supply problem facing the state."
The remaining 60 per cent of power would be sold to the national grid, reported Nigerian online newspaper Daily Times.
The project is reported to only take nine months.Â
Elsewhere in Nigeria, the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation is also building airport terminals and modernising a railway, and Sinohydro together with Chinese National Electric Engineering is building a 700MW hydropower plant.
