Cimic Group subsidiary CPB Contractors has won a US$142.5m contract to extend Auckland Airport, New Zealand’s largest.
As part of the Taxiway Mike and Remote Stands Stage 2 project, CPB Contractors will build a new taxiway and extend and existing one, extend six remote stands and build a stormwater drainage system and treatment lagoon.
Work on the project includes 900,000 cubic metres of earthworks, laying 130,000 cubic metres of aggregate basecourse, and 168,000 sq m of concrete pavement.
Michael Wright, Cimic Group’s chief executive, said: "New Zealand remains an important focus for the Cimic Group as we expand our delivery of infrastructure to benefit communities now and into the future.
"The Auckland Airport works are an important addition to our portfolio of transport and social infrastructure projects across the country."

The project is due to be completed by October 2021.
