Ferrovial to build a new landfill facility in Portugal

A Ferrovial Services-led consortium has been awarded a $148m contract to design and build a landfill in the Porto region of Portugal.

As part of a consortium with EGEO, Amândio Carvalho and Gabriel Couto, Ferrovial Services will design, build and manage a controlled landfill, recycling centre and transfer station in Póvoa do Varzim.

One of the largest public sector contracts awarded in Portugal in recent years, package includes managing an ancillary recycling centre and transfer station and operation of the landfill for 25 years.
