Halcrow has been named by Dubai developer Nakheel as the design consultant for The Boardwalk – a 11km walkway on Palm Jumeirah.
The Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk will run the entire length of the island’s 11km crescent and is designed to turn the area into a walking, shopping and dining destination.

The project will cover the whole of the existing crescent and includes a 100m pier stretching into the Persian Gulf at both ends.
The Boardwalk will be created by building over the rocks of the Palm’s breakwater, and will be double the width of the existing path at six metres wide.
Nakheel has said it expects to start tendering for the construction in the second quarter of this year.
