Hill International to lead on new Qatar museum

Hill International has been awarded a contract to manage the construction of the new National Museum of Qatar.

The four-year contract was awarded by Qatar Petroleum, on behalf of the Qatar Museums Authority, and is worth $22.7m.

The the new museum, a series of interlocking disks of various dimensions, has been designed by Jean Nouvel

Architect Jean Nouvel designed the new museum, a series of interlocking disks of various dimensions built around the existing palace at the site.

The existing Qatar National Museum is currently closed and the new museum is scheduled to open in 2015.
