L&T wins $72m EPC contract for grid stations in Oman

15 November 2013

A subsidiary of Indian firm Larsen & Toubro has won a $72m engineering, procurement and construction contract from Oman Electricity Transmission Company.

L&T Oman will complete the project in 20-months, which involves EPC work for two 132/33 kV grid stations along with its 132 kV direct current over line and cabling works in Muscat.

L&T said the project was won against stiff international competition.

Chief executive of L&T Oman, Surendhra Babu, told Muscat Daily: "We have landed an electrical job after a long time. We are also trying to get more such projects in Oman which are in the tendering process. There are projects in the infrastructure sector and we will be bidding for more contracts."
