Singapore announces winning bidders for $900m of metro stations

Contracts worth an estimated $900m have been awarded by Singapore’s Land Transport Authority. The stations involved in the project are the Thomson Line’s Orchard Boulevard, Great World, Outram Park and Shenton Way.

The contract for Orchard Boulevard station was awarded to local firm KTC Civil Engineering & Construction for $114m.

The $252m contract for Great World station and its associated tunnels was awarded to two more Singaporean companies, Tiong Seng Contractor and Dongah Geological Engineering.

The construction of Outram Park station and its associated tunnels was awarded to South Korean firm Daelim Industrial for $240m. 

The fully underground, 30km Thomson Line will have 22 stations in all. Construction will begin this quarter and is scheduled to be completed by 2021.

The contract for Shenton Way station and its associated tunnels was awarded to China’s Shanghai Tunnel Engineering for $294m.
