The US Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) has picked UK consultant Atkins and US firm Merrick to provide design, engineering, and project management services worldwide.
Together the companies have already provided more than 80 years worth of architecture and engineering services to the US Department of Defense, Atkins said.
Merrick-Atkins will support military construction, family housing, and facility upkeep programs for seven years.
The contract allows any Atkins office in the world to provide the necessary design or environmental-related services to the Air Force.
This could include studies, concept or full designs, construction document packages, construction administration, and program management.

Tim Byers, Atkins’ North America senior vice president, defense sector, said: "Our worldwide presence provides the Air Force with a team focused on making installations more resilient, safe, and secure using proven asset management value propositions that optimize infrastructure while reducing risk and life-cycle costs."
