Dubai based conglomerate Al-Futtaim has signed a deal to develop and manage a new supermall in Muscat, Oman, intended to be the capital’s largest retail, leisure and entertainment centre.
The new mall will be located next to the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, which is due for completion in 2016, and 10 minutes away from Muscat International Airport.
The supermall will be located adjacent to the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre to be opened in 2016
The deal was signed by Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) and the Omani National Investment Funds Company SAOC (Nifco).
"The creation of major retail hubs is crucial towards the development of tourism as it helps destinations attract both regional and domestic traffic," said Al-Futtaim vice chairman, Omar Al Futtaim.
