Dutch engineer Arcadis and Chinese consultant Shanghai Greenment Environmental Technology have formed a strategic alliance with the aim of helping Chinese firms to deal with increasingly rigorous environmental regulations in other countries.Â
The partnership will include site evaluation and restoration, environmental planning and strategic environmental consulting opportunities. One particular aim is to help Chinese enterprises to expand overseas in accordance with the Communist Party’s policy of urging firms to expand their horizons beyond the domestic market.Â
As well as construction firms, the partnership will advise those in the chemical, pharmaceutical, oil and gas sectors, commercial developers and car makers.Â
Greenment has operations in Shanghai, Beijing, Sichuan, Hainan and Yunnan, servicing both private and public sector clients.Â
Mark Fenner, global director for environmental solutions at Arcadis, said: "As China’s environmental regulations develop and the enforcement of those regulations increases, the strategic alliance between Arcadis and Greenment will enable us to respond more effectively to our clients’ changing needs."Â
Ma Lie, a managing partner of Greenment, said: "We’re delighted to collaborate with Arcadis. Together we will be able to offer our clients a full spectrum of world-class environmental technology services combined with local know-how."
