Very hard ground and a tightly constrained site await Vinci Construction subsidiary Bachy Soletanche in an €80m foundations project in Hong Kong’s central business district.

The contract for a large, unnamed property complex includes the construction of diaphragm walls and bored piles, Vinci said.

Scheduled for completion by 2024, the works will be conducted in a complex environment immediately next to an underground motorway and the metro.

A part of the wall will be built at limited height using two compact Hydrofraise machines, which Bachy Soletanche designed and manufactured for drilling into very hard ground.

Soletanche Bachy has 50 years of experience in Hong Kong. In recent years, it has been involved in building the third runway at Hong Kong International Airport and foundation works in the West Kowloon cultural district.
