BAM consortium signs $1.2bn German road contract

The Bavarian road authority Autobahndirektion Südbayern has selected a consortium of BAM, Eiffage and Berger Bau for a $1.2bn highway project in the state.

The PPP will be known as the Availability Model A94 Forstinning-Marktl.

The project involves the design, construction, financing and maintenance of a 33km-long, four-lane motorway between Pastetten and Heldenstein.

In addition to the laying of the autobahn, the contract also includes the maintenance and operation of a 77km-long motorway section of the A94 between Forstinning and Marktl over a 30-year period.

Financial close is expected to be reached in January 2016.
