China’s CITIC supplies new carriages for ageing Buenos Aires subway

Subway line A in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was closed for upgrading from 12 January to 8 March. As part of the project, 100-year-old cars are to be replaced by 45 new subway carriages provided by China’s CITIC Construction.

The new carriages manufactured in China. CITIC Construction signed a contract to supply locomotives and carriages in 2008. It says the contract started from May 2010 and was delivered in October 2011.
