UGL will upgrade the fibre network, providing design, access, construction and installation services.

Juan Santamaría, Cimic group executive chair, said: “Access to fast broadband and connectivity is crucial to support the increasing number of connected devices across metro, regional and rural Australia.

“We are pleased to work with NBN to deliver robust digital infrastructure for Australians.”

Doug Moss, UGL managing director, said: “UGL is committed to delivering cutting-edge technology and enhancing service accessibility for consumers across Australia. We are thrilled that nbn has entrusted us to continue to support this digital transformation.”

Work on the project is due to begin in June 2025.
