Arcadis begins hunt for new chief financial officer after Renier Vree resigns

Dutch consulting engineer Arcadis has announced that Renier Vree, its chief financial officer, will leave the company on 1 March.

Vree, who joined Arcadis as CFO in May 2010, is to join Dutch paint maker AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals, also as CFO.

Peter Oosterveer, chief executive and chairman of Arcadis, said the company was "extremely grateful" for Vree’s contributions. He said: "Renier has been integral to the significant growth that Arcadis has achieved over the past eight years. He has played an instrumental role in the selection, acquisition and integration of the large acquisitions Arcadis executed during his tenure."

He added that Vree had been the "driving force" behind the implementation of the Arcadis Way, "our harmonised way of working across the global enterprise".

Arcadis is now beginning to look for Vree’s replacement, and has said it will consider external as well as internal candidates.
