Jacobs bolsters European life sciences offering with two appointments

New York-listed engineering group Jacobs has bolstered its European life sciences business with two appointments.

John Cronin has been named Vice President and General Manager for Life Sciences in Europe and Michael Donegan has been appointed Director of Business Development, Life Sciences Ireland, UK and the Nordics.

Cronin will lead a team of 1,300 people offering engineering, procurement, construction management, commissioning and qualification services for clients in biologics, cell and gene therapy-based manufacturing facilities, active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing and related industries.

He joined Jacobs as senior project manager in 2011.

Most recently, he was vice president for life sciences in Ireland, where he was responsible for the delivery of several biologics manufacturing projects involving large-scale production of immuno-oncology medicines.

He has led some of Jacobs’ biggest life sciences projects including the Bristol Myers Squibb Large-Scale Cell Culture Manufacturing Facility in Cruiserath, Dublin.

John Noble, Jacobs’ global general manager of life sciences, said: "He steps into this role at a critical period for our global life sciences business. As our clients respond to complex and evolving challenges, John’s deep experience in project delivery, coupled with his strategic focus on inclusion, innovation and sustainability, ensures our business is positioned to deliver holistic solutions on the transformative work we provide."

As Director of Business Development for Life Sciences in Ireland, UK and the Nordics, Michael Donegan will be responsible for new business development.
