CSCEC wins Zambia road deal

China State Construction Engineering Corp. (CSCEC) has won a road-building contract in Zambia’s Eastern Province valued at $103m.

The project, for Zambia’s national highways division, will be for the upgrading and reconstruction of roads from Chipata to Katete via Chadiza (90km), from Katete to Chadiza (50km), plus 10km of inner city roads.

"The signing of the contract signifies the periodic progress having been achieved by CSCEC in opening up the Zambian market," CSCEC said in a statement. "It will lay a good foundation to further explore Zambian and surrounding markets."
