Drake & Scull wins latest addition to Palm Jumeirah

Contractor Drake & Scull International (DSI) and United Arab Emirates’ based developer Omniyat have announced plans to build a landmark project strategically located at the entrance of the Palm Jumeirah resort in Dubai. 

The "One at Palm" project is being jdeveloped by both companies and will be managed by Omniyat. The enabling works is due to commence within the next two months. 

Khaldoun Al Tabari, the chief executive of DSI, said: "We are delighted to partner with Omniyat to create a unique landmark on the iconic Palm Jumeirah skyline." 

Mahdi Amjad, his opposite number at Omniyat, said "The luxury residential building will be designed by internationally renowned architects Soma from New York, Super Potato from Japan and Vladimir from Lebanon.  

The building is being sold on the basis of its 360 degree views over Dubai; apartment sizes will range from 2,500 to 20,000 square feet. 

Full details of the project are to be released at Cityscape 2014. 

Arabtec and Drake & Scull were awarded an $87m resort contract in Jordan in June this year. Drake & Scull won a $600m Suez Canal Project in May.
