DSI wins MEP contract for King Saud University

Drake & Scull International (DSI) has been awarded a $87.5m contract for complete mechanical, electrical and plumbing works at King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

DSI’s Saudi Arabia branch will design, install, test and commission complete electromechanical works for three buildings at the university’s Endowment Projects.

DSI vice-chairman and CEO, Khaldoun Tabari, said: "The King Saud University contract is highly prestigious for DSI and further consolidates our presence in Saudi Arabia as leaders in engineering (MEP, and water and power) as well as general contracting."

Work on the project is expected to be completed by 2015.

The MEP contract is the second secured in the last two months. DSI’s Qatar subsidiary won a $109m contract for MEP work on the Mall of Qatar, which is also scheduled for completion in 2015.
