Webber, an American subsidiary of Spain’s Ferrovial, has won two contracts worth a total of $721m to build water facilities in Austin and Fort Worth, Texas.

In Austin, Webber has won a $426m contract as part of the I-35 Capital Express Central on behalf of the Texas Department of Transportation.

A 105ft-deep pump station with four concrete volute pumps will take in water from draining tunnels along the corridor for flood and stormwater management. The total pumping capacity is 260,000 gallons per minute.

Construction has already begun and is due to be completed in late 2028.

Webber has also won a $295m contract for Fort Worth’s Eagle Mountain Water Treatment Plant Expansion (pictured).

The project will increase the plant’s daily potable water capacity by 35 million gallons.

The scope of work includes construction of ozone generation and disinfection systems, flocculation and sedimentation basins, media biological filters and a membrane filtration building.

Construction is already underway and is expected to be completed in 2029.
