Ferrovial wins $301m Texas highway contract

Webber, the US subsidiary of Spanish infrastructure company Ferrovial, has won a $301m contract for 12km of highway reconstruction work in Dallas, Texas.

Webber was awarded the contract by the Texas Department of Transportation, and will work the interchanges on State Loop 12, State Spur 482, State Highway 114 and 183.

Construction involves building 32 bridges, widening lanes, grading, and adding signage and illumination.

The project will reduce travel times, traffic congestion at peak times, and improve connectivity.

Work on the project is due to be completed in 2024.

Webber has previously won a $192m Texas highway expansion contract in 2017, and in 2019, a Webber subsidiary won a €274m contract for a Texas water treatment project.

Last week, Ferrovial announced plans to drop Agroman from the name of its construction subsidiary to become a more internationally focused group.
