First full-scale Hyperloop capsule unveiled in Spain

The first full size Hyperloop capsule has been unveiled in Spain by Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HyperloopTT) and Spanish artificial intelligence firm Airtificial.

The capsule, called "Quintero One", will be tested at HyperloopTT’s research and development centre and at the test track under construction in Toulouse.

Built almost completely from "Vibranium", a dual-layer composite material, Quintero One is 32m long, 15m wide and weighs 5 tonnes.

The capsule was designed in collaboration with transport design consultancy PriestmanGoode.

Bibop Gresta, HyperloopTT’s co-founder, said: "In 2019, this capsule will be fully optimised and ready for passengers.

"Since we have taken major steps in solving government regulations with our safety certification guidelines and insurance frameworks, we are now closer than ever to bringing Hyperloop to the world."

Earlier this year, the city of Tongren, in the southwestern Chinese province of Guizhou, signed an agreement with HyperloopTT to develop a system in the city.
