German construction equipment company Bomag has created a Spanish subsidiary called Bomag Ibérica de Maquinaria.

The move follows its acquisition of Spanish and Portuguese equipment seller Maquinter, which had distributed its compaction and road building range in the region since 1993.

The new company will sell Bomag’s products, either directly or through a dealer and service partner network, throughout the Spanish mainland and the Canary Islands.

The company will retain all employees and maintain a headquarters outside Madrid.

Jonathan Stringham, Bomag’s vice president of sales and marketing, said: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome the experienced employees of Maquinter to the Bomag family – this merger significantly strengthens our network in the Spanish market.”

Bomag is itself owned by French construction company the Fayat Group.
