Hill International to project manage two Gulf glamour schemes

American construction manager Hill International has expanded its order book in the Gulf after winning the project management role for two high-profile schemes in Dubai and Qatar.

The New Jersey-based firm is to handle the project management of the Langham Palm Jumeirah hotel in Dubai and the Mall of Qatar, in the capital Doha. 

The first of these is a year-long job with a value of $1.6m, the second will last three-year and have an estimated value of $9.6m. 

Speaking about the $88m Langham Palm, Mohammed Al Rais, Hill’s managing director for the Middle East, said: "Having been part of bringing Palm Jumeirah to fruition, it’s exciting for Hill to be back managing a premier hotel project on the island."

The second scheme is the the $820m Mall of Qatar. This will be situated next to a FIFA 2022 World Cup stadium, and will have its own station on the metro line – which is also under construction. 

When it’s completed, the shopping centre will have have 400 shops over 165,000m2 of retail space on three levels, in addition to parking spaces for 7,000 cars.
