Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, this week launched an AI powered collision detection system powered by Presien.
The Leica Xsight360 system detects people or objects nearby and alerts the operator, indicating the location and proximity of the hazard. Up to six onboard cameras provide 360-degree coverage.
The system transmits video and data to the cloud, where AI generates reports and safety recommendations. This lets users compare video footage to international, national, or site-specific safety policies.
Presien’s visual AI models are trained with 700,000 hours of site operations, and they keep learning.
Neil Williams, president of Leica Geosystems’ machine control division, said the system can shape safety strategies with its comprehensive reports.
Presien’s chief executive Mark Richards said the company was on a mission “to bring AI to every machine”.
