Dubai developer Nakheel has signed three contracts worth $653m for construction work at its new mixed-use community in the Nad al Sheba district in Dubai (pictured).
The development will include 1,500 three-to-five bedroom villas for lease, and a resort-style complex of 100 high-end serviced villas with private pools.
The project will be built in three packages by local companies Trojan General Contracting, United Engineering Construction and Metac General Contracting.
Trojan will complete the first phase for $226m. This will include the main community infrastructure work and the construction of 489 villas.
UNEC will work on the $214m second package, developing 482 villas, and for the third phase Metac will build 468 villas for $213m.
The project will include onsite facilities for all residents, including a club house, community swimming pool, sports courts and a retail centre with around 30 shops and cafes. Â
Residents and guests at the serviced villa complex will be offered a range of high-end facilities and services, including an onsite health club with spa, wellness centre and lap pool, a restaurant, in-villa private dining and housekeeping and laundry services.
The project is expected to be completed in early 2018.
