Aecom JV $600m US homeland security job

An Aecom-led consortium has been awarded a five-year contract worth up to $600m by the US Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) to improve America’s ability to deal with disasters.  

The team will provide support for a number of Fema programmes, including risk mapping, assessment and planning, and hazard mitigation. These are part of an ambitious scheme to provide high quality data to states and counties on the threat posed by floods and other natural and man-mare threats, and to help mitigate that threat. 

As well as Aecom, the Compass PTS consortium includes environmental consultant T&M Associates, multidisciplinary consultant Halff Associates, geospatial specialist Fugro EarthData and risk manager ABSG Consulting.

Last month Atkins and Stantec won a similar $600m contract from the agency.
