Technology colossus Apple has commissioned two of the world’s largest onshore wind turbines, which will be located close to the southwestern Danish town of Esbjerg.
The efforts are part of the firm’s plans to be fully carbon neutral by 2030.
The 200m tall turbines will produce 62 gigawatt hours of energy each year, enough to power 20,000 homes.
The energy generated will be used at Apple’s 45,000 sq m data centre in Viborg, with any surplus energy going into the Danish grid.
