Arabtec wins choice Downtown Doha contract

Arabtec has been awarded a contract from Msheireb Properties, Qatar’s leading sustainable real estate developer, for the complete execution of the Phase 2 of Msheireb Downtown Doha.

The contract, worth approximately US$630m (QR2.3bn) involves the construction of a built-up area of approximately 370,000 sq m, comprising 10 buildings up to 19 storeys in height.

Hasan Ismaik, managing director of Arabtec Holding PJSC, said: "It is an honour for us to be involved in such an esteemed project, and I would like to thank Msheireb Properties for providing us this exciting opportunity, and putting their trust in Arabtec."

In November 2012 Msheireb Properties appointed the consortium Brookfield Multiplex Medgulf WLL as the main building contractors  responsible for construction of substructure and superstructure works for Phase 1C of the project. The contract was valued at QR1.5bn.
