China’s CRBC wins Gabon highway job

China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), a subsidiary of state-owned China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), has signed an EPC contract with the Gabonese government for a 93km highway and bridges worth a total of US$663m.

Construction is to last 60 months.

Located in southwest Gabon’s coastal area, the proposed highway has an asphalt concrete surface and stretches from the south of Port Gentil to Omboué.

The project involves two large bridges, with a total length of 13 kilometres, and 141 culverts.

The project is Gabon’s largest non-rail capital construction project in recent years, according to sources. After completion, the project will connect Gabon’s largest port Port Gentil to the inland highway network.
