EC Harris wins role on major Malaysian development scheme

26 March 2014

Consultant EC Harris, part of Arcadis, has been appointed by MIM Berhad (Medini Iskandar Malaysia) to act as design and development managers on a new, 2,200-acre business district scheme in Johor Bahru, south Malaysia.

The project, called Medini, entails 60m square feet of new-build offices and commercial assets which the developer intends to be a new business hub in South-East Asia.

EC Harris will advise MIM Berhad on how to maximize the value of their land and meet the overall vision for the scheme. Last year EC Harris helped the client with the development masterplan.

"EC Harris has played a fundamental role in the progress we have made so far in taking this iconic scheme forward," said Khairil Anwar Ahmad, CEO of Medini Iskandar Malaysia.

The wider Iskandar development is expected to be delivered over the next 15-20 years and once finished, will cover an area that is three times the size of Singapore.
