Turkish firm builds gas plants in Turkmenistan

Turkish company Calik Enerji Sanayi ve Ticaret has been awarded contracts to build two gas turbine power plants in Turkmenistan.

The design and construction of a 252.2MW gas turbine and a 504.4MW gas turbine in the Ahal velayat province of Turkmenistan are planned to start in July 2013.

They are due for completion in December 2014 and December 2015, respectively.

According to news agency Trend, construction of the turbines will help the country to meet its goal of providing 35.5 billion kilowatt/hour of electricity by 2030.
