Vinci wins $206m Chile metro contract

Vinci has won a contract, worth $206m, to build and maintain two lines on the metro in Santiago, Chile.

The contract will be carried out by Eurovia subsidiary ETF, part of Vinci Group, and will last 20 years.

It will cover building and maintenance of the rail infrastructure (tracks and catenaries) on the city’s lines 3 and 6 and involves 75km of electrified rail tracks as well as 15km of tracks for two depots.

Commissioning is scheduled for February 2017 for line 6 and June 2018 for line 3.

ETF has already completed over one-third of the lines of Santiago’s underground system currently in operation.
