Work begins on €200m mixed-use development in Galway

Construction has begun on Crown Square, a 12.7-acre mixed-use development in Galway, Ireland.

The project will contain a 175-bed hotel, 288 residential units and office and retail space, situated around a public square. Amenities also include an outdoor play area, large fitness and leisure facility, a medical centre, a pharmacy, cafes and a food-hall.

Crown Square will have multiple green and wellbeing features, including offices built to LEED Gold standard, bike rentals and a running track around the site.

The project is being built by Galway contractor JJ Rhatigan, and designed by Dublin architect Henry J Lyons.

The Irish Times reports that the €200m project is being funded by American investor Quadrant Real Estate Advisers.
