Pharrell Williams opens “thrilling” art deco hotel in Miami

A 266-room hotel fronted by hip hop entrepreneur Pharrell Williams and nightclub magnate David Grutman has opened Miami Beach.

The Goodtime Hotel is located on a 100,000 sq ft block between 6th and 7th Streets. According to its promoters, it has a "reimagined art deco aesthetic" with many rooms offering direct views west to Biscayne Bay or east to the Atlantic ocean, guaranteeing "Instagram-worthy sunrise or sunsets on a regular basis".

Work on the project was undertaken by real estate developer Imperial Companies, alongside New York’s Morris Adjmi Architects.

Each of the development’s rooms has custom bedding and the hotel includes the Strawberry Moon restaurant and 45,000 sq ft of ground-floor retail.

Williams said: "We want The Goodtime Hotel to impart a feeling of both revitalisation and that rare, exciting thrill that takes over when you discover something special.

"It’s that adrenaline-fueled sensation of entering a whole new setting and a whole new mindset. This place will provide a natural good time, for all who come through."
