Qatar’s Doha Investment Company has won a contract for $65m to build a housing project in Iraq.
The complex will comprise of 480 housing units, a school, a health centre and various other services in central al-Samawa, capital of Iraq’s al-Muthanna directorate, reports news site al-Shorfa.
The project, designed to help alleviate the directorate’s housing crisis, is expected to begin in August and be completed within two years.
Doha Global Investment Company is a $12bn Qatari investment firm backed by assets from the Gulf state’s sovereign wealth fund.
