China International Water and Electric has started construction on a 183MW hydropower plant at Isimba Falls in Uganda.
The $500m project is being funded by the China Export and Import Bank and should be finished in 2016, reports Energy Business Review.

China already has one other hydropower project underway in Uganda, the 600MW Karuma dam for which China extended $500m in credit.
