Swedish multinational builder-developer Skanska will invest €45m in the second phase of its "Equilibrium" office development in Bucharest, Romania.
This second building, 12 storeys in height and located in the north of the capital, will have a total leasable area of 19,900 sq m, the company said.
The LEED Gold pre-certified project is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2023.
On completion, the two-building Equilibrium complex will offer 40,800 sq m of leasable area. It will offer green relaxation spaces and outdoor meeting hubs with wireless chargers, power sockets and free WiFi.
Its real estate ventures saw Skanska buck the trend among contractors in 2020. Many posted losses owing to the pandemic, but Skanska recorded a healthy profit for the year helped by $860m earned from commercial property sales.Â
In Europe, the company develops commercial property in Poland, Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary, and residential property in Poland, Czech Republic and the UK.
