Systra acquires Spanish rail company

Systra and Ardanuy Ingeniería representatives at the acquisition signing
French engineer Systra has acquired Spanish transport company Ardanuy Ingeniería for an undisclosed sum.

The deal could help Systra move into Spanish, Portuguese and Hispanic American rail infrastructure markets.

Ardanuy Ingeniería employees will join Systra teams in Spain, Portugal, Latin America, India and the Baltic.

Jean-Charles Vollery, Systra Group’s chief executive, said: “This combination will enable us to deliver even greater value to our clients and to jointly take on ambitious projects. I am convinced that this alliance will offer our teams real opportunities for success and growth.”

Carlos Alonso, Ardanuy Ingeniería’s chief executive, said: “We are building an organisation with a clear vision for the future, capable of offering new development perspectives for our teams and creating synergies for the benefit of our clients across all the regions in which we operate.”

In November 2024, two French investment companies, Fimalac and Latour Capital, acquired a 58% stake in Systra, with Systra saying the move would allow it to grow beyond the 80 countries it presently works in.
