Tech adds sound as design parameter to 3D modelling

In a claimed world-first, the technology lets designers model sound experiences virtually (Courtesy of Treble Technologies)
Icelandic start-up Treble Technologies has developed a sound simulation platform that integrates with 3D modelling software.

Called “Treble”, it lets designers model sound experiences virtually. Treble claims it’s the world’s first sound simulation platform.

Treble said acoustic design used to rely on guesswork and physical prototypes, which yielded sub-optimal results.

Now, users can perform analysis and design of sound in an entirely software-based process.

The platform uses Treble’s proprietary, wave-based simulation technology, which offered a level of reliability that was “previously unobtainable in the architectural and engineering fields”, the start-up claimed.
