Three luxury Dubai contracts in a row for Chinese giant, CSCEC

China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) has landed three luxury contracts in Dubai, making it a serious contender in the booming emirate.

Two are from Dubai-based developer Arenco Real Estate, which has chosen CSCEC to build two new hotels at Palm Jumeirah (pictured). Located on adjoining plots, they will be five-star resort hotels of around 100,000 square metres each, ArabianBusiness.com reported.

The third, announced this week, is a 59-storey high-rise tower called "Suites in the Skai" comprising hotel and apartments at Jumeirah Village Circle. Costed at $54.5m, the 4-star resort is being developed by Skai Holdings Ltd., in which CSCEC is an investor.

Of the Arenco wins CSCEC said that they were "another important march into the luxury hotel market".

CSCEC is already building (and is a co-investor in) the $1 billion Palm Viceroy Hotel and recently completed the Southern Sun hotel building in Abu Dhabi for Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s company, DAS Holding.

CSCEC is the world’s third-biggest contractor, according to Engineering News-Record.
