Turner & Townsend (T&T) has been appointed as the lenders’ technical adviser for the $363m refurbishment of the Rijnstraat 8 project in The Hague.Â
The refurbishment of the 99,000m2 former ministry will result in new public areas, reconfigured offices and a state-of-the-art crisis centre located in the heart of the city. The building will span 16 floors, and will be connected by open corridors. T&T will be working on behalf of the lenders for the PPP project and will be providing a full range of technical due diligence services.Â
T&T has a design, build, finance, maintain and operate contract in place and will continue to monitor the project as it continues through the build and maintenance phases.Â
A consortium consisting of BAM, ISS and The Office for Metropolitan Architecture has been responsible for the design of the building.Â
BAM were awarded the design contract by the Dutch government in May.Â
Construction is due be completed in 2016.
