Turner & Townsend to Thinc big with major Australian acquisition

UK construction consultancy Turner & Townsend has acquired a leading Australian project manager called Thinc.

The move increases Turner & Townsend’s Australian headcount by more than 50% to 400 staff in 10 locations across the country, and follows sustained growth in the region.

Turner & Townsend chief executive Vincent Clancy (pictured) said the acquisition would boost the company’s in-depth local knowledge and help it grow even more in Australia.

Turner & Townsend’s clients there include National Australia Bank, Brisbane Airport, Transport for NSW, Canberra University and Woolworths.

Thinc’s clients include Virgin, Queensland Health, Western Australia Public Transport Authority, Wanda Ridong and Queensland Investment Corporation. The company also operates in New Zealand, Fiji and Indonesia.

Thinc’s CEO Geoff Hardy will now lead a specialised project management practice to be called Turner & Townsend Thinc.
