Turner Construction Company has won a contract to build a $184m agriculture research building for the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

The 190,000-square-foot building will contain laboratory teaching space, office space, and a 250-seat auditorium.

It’s scheduled for completion in 2027.

Turner vice president David Opalka said the existing facilities would be demolished for an upcoming $1.7bn hospital expansion project.

Turner has worked on more than 20 projects for the University of Kentucky including the Albert B. Chandler Hospital in 2011, and the Health Education Building, set for completion in 2026.
