Vinci Construction’s tunnel subsidiary Bessac has entered into a consortium with Canadian civil company EBC to build the €124m Fairbank-Silverthorn Storm Trunk Sewer System for the city of Toronto.

The team’s scope of work on the project includes construction of the main gravity storm trunk sewer with a tunnel boring machine, as well as 21 access shafts and a storm drain outfall.

Work on the project is due to take 31 months and when complete will reduce the impact of heavy rainfall for more than 4,600 homes across 140ha.
