Visitors to Japan’s tallest building can take world’s scariest walk

A 20m-long rooftop walkway called "the Edge" has been installed in Japan’s tallest building.

Located at the top of the 60-storey Abeno Harukas building in Osaka, above 300m of empty air, the walkway consists of little more than a ledge with a hip-high safety barrier, and visitors will be fitted with safety harnesses before making their way onto it.

Those sufficiently untroubled by heights to do so will have their picture taken against the skyline of Japan’s third largest city.

Yuri Kawaguchi, a student at Hannan University who visited the walkway, is quoted by The Japan Times as saying: "I enjoyed the incredible openness in the absence of windows."
