A 60/40 joint venture between Spanish contractors Acciona and Azvi has landed a €130m contract to build an 18km high-speed rail link as part of the Murcia-to-Cartagena railway in Spain.

The duo will work on a section of track running from Riquelme to Torre Pacheco.

The work will include the construction of seven viaducts, 12 overpasses and one underpass, as well as the refurbishment of Balsicas-Mar Menor and Torre-Pacheco stations.

The project is being financed by the EU through the NextGenerationEU fund.
